So here's another epic example of creative writing, this time an obituary. We suspect she might have written it herself.

That is AWESOME! I want to write my own obituary--no wait, I want to live a life like that so I can write an obit. like that!
On a more practical note, how was the personal retreat? Did you go unshaven, eat bad meals, and write in isolation to the point where you started talking out loud with your characters and doing that scary laugh thing?
We missed you at Glen.
Sarah, thanks. I missed being there, too. And I probably didn't get any more writing done when I was alone in da Camp than I would have at Glen Lake. My next personal writing project will not be my obit, but one for my cat of nearly 17 years. --M
That's hard. I had to put down one of my cats last September. He had a tumor in his jaw and was to the point where he could barely even drink. 15 years old.
I'm sorry to hear that. 15 years is a long time. And your kids had him (her? their whole lives. That must be hard. Boomer was my best friend for 17. I'm still collecting my thoughts. They'll be too long for the PW anthology.
